David was an intelligent, sensitive young man who had artistic talent and was an avid, well informed listenerof all kinds of music.  His life was far too short, and I have missed him so much throughout all of the phases of my life that followed his death.  I wish so much that he could have known my husband and children ad been a part of our lives.  He was my brother, but we were also best frineds.  I named my son, who is now 24 after him - Mary Jean Batten HHHS '74
