I attended Barbara's 40th birthday party, along with my brother Bob, Jayme Paden, and Fran LaPolla in Maryland. Barbara looked wonderful, but she made the comment that she was having this party so she could actually attend her after-furneral gathering. It was a celebration of her life, while she was still alive. Because she seemed to be doing so well, it was a shock to get the call of her passing not too long after the party. She was a good friend, and I'll never forget her.
