Dan was a great friend.  I was blessed to have experienced so many adventures with Dan.  I miss him dearly.  So much more to say.  May he rest in peace!

Dan was truly one of a kind.  If you were down, he'd pick you up, if you were up for an adventure he accompany you and take you further than you thought possible.  His Buick, or was it his mother's, was a legendary car but only because Dan was behind the wheel and you never did know just where you'd come out at night's end.

There were plenty of times he drove me nuts but I'm sure you could say that about any true friend.  Dan lived his life as close to his own way as any person I have ever met and I admired him for that and I truly hope that someday we'll meet again and start up the Buick and drive.

In a word, I loved Dan, (Dan my apologies if it was not a Buick).

It was a Buick,  a duce and a quarter to be exact! I remember Hooley in the back seat emitting noise to sound like a police car was after Dan.  Dan would step on the gas and have the colored speedometer (it actually turned color from green to yellow to red as your speed increased) transition to deep red.

I also remember being down at the Station (Crugers) on a snowy night.  We were in Dan’s car and parked at the end of the long hill facing the river.  All of a sudden we noticed bright lights approaching.  They seemed ominous as we could see a plow bearing down on us.  The collision of the plow into the rear end of Dan’s ride created quite a surprise only to discover it was Dan’s step father, Emilio Joe who was 4-barrilling into Dan’s car to read Dan the riot act. Dan was not supposed to be out with us drinking beer and talking tales.

Today I had the pleasure of accepting an award for Dan as he was named to the Section I Wrestling Hall of Fame.  Such a shame he wasn't here to accept it himself!

I remember Dan at one of our reunions in Fishkill. He was hilarious and really made the night fun. There was a no party rule at the hotel and Dan invited the entire group to his room. The Troopers came to break up the party around 3am and Dan even made them laugh when he answered the door in his bathrobe!
